Virtual Workshop Summarization – Key to Information Overload

Recently, SAIL LABS’ CEO, Christoph Prinz, held a talk on “Television Summarization – A Practical Example”, demonstrating SAIL LABS’ solution for audio, text and video processing. The presentation was part of the workshop “Summarization – Key to information overload” promoted by eTranslation User Community.


In 2017, the European Commission initiated the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) eTranslation Tools and Services project aiming towards contributing to the development of CEF eTranslation going beyond simple translation and acting as a “multilingualism enabler”. eTranslation User Community regularly organizes dedicated meetings and workshops, as the one which SAIL took part.

1st Regional ELG Workshop

SAIL LABS participated in the 1st Regional ELG Workshop held during the 5th SwissText & 16th KONVENS Joint Conference 2020, on Tue, 23rd June 2020.

SwissText is an annual conference established in 2016 by the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) that brings together text analytics experts from industry and academia. KONVENS has been held regularly since 1992 and deals with all areas of natural language processing. This year the two conferences were held together as a single event, gathering practitioners and researchers.

During the event, SAIL LABS` Head of Research, Gerhard Backfried presented the topic “ELG from an industry perspective”. The presentation covered various aspects and trends regarding the LT- and AI markets and how the ELG could provide answers to the challenges caused by a tremendous increase in the demand for language technologies from a European perspective.

New Media Mining System 2019-2 Release

The newest version of our award-winning Media Mining System (MMSys), 2019-2 Release, is officially available.

Some of the additional features in the latest MMSys version relate to Visual Analytics, as it can be seen below.
