Paper on hate speech at IRIS 2020 conference

SAIL LABS’ Head of Research, Gerhard Backfried, contributed to a paper called: Hate posts – A tightrope walk between the freedom of expression and crime (Hasspostings – Eine Gratwanderung zwischen freier Meinungsäußerung und Kriminalität). The paper was the result of cooperation between Bettina Pospisil, Edith Huber (Danube University Krems), Bettina Biron, Gerald Quirchmayr (University of Vienna) and Gerhard Backfried.

Their paper will be presented on the IRIS 2020 conference, which takes place at the University of Salzburg on the 27th to the 29th of February. IRIS is the International Legal Informatics Symposium and this year is its 23rd edition. IRIS has been established as the largest and most important academic conference on computers and law in Austria and Central Europe.
