On January 13, SAIL LABS members Severin Stampler and Gerhard Backfried participated in the ELG consortium meeting at DFKI in Berlin. The meeting focused on the upcoming open call (https://www.european-language-grid.eu/open-calls/) which will provide opportunities to European SMEs to integrate and demonstrate their services with the ELG.
The H2020 project ELG is composed of a consortium of 9 members, including SAIL LABS. The project addresses the fragmentation of the European LT by establishing the ELG as the primary platform for LT in Europe. It aims to be a scalable cloud platform, providing, in an easy-to-integrate way, access to hundreds of commercial and non-commercial LT for all European languages, including running tools and services as well as data sets and resources. It was launched in January 2019 and will continue for 3 years.
SAIL participates in ELG in a variety of ways: as a provider of technologies and models, taking part in communication and dissemination activities and being responsible for innovation management within the project.
