SAIL LABS Technology Announces Partnership with Dalet

SAIL LABS Technology, one of the world’s leading speech technology solution providers, and Dalet, a worldwide leader in Media Asset Management (MAM) solutions for broadcasters and media professionals, today announced a powerful partnership to offer leading edge technology in multimedia information retrieval.

The two companies have signed an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) agreement, encompassing the SAIL LABS Media Mining Indexer (supporting all languages) and the Language Model Toolkit to extend Dalet’s MAM product-line and other audio indexing solutions with industry-leading speech technology.

The Media Mining Indexer is based on automatic speech recognition and indexing technology, developed and owned by SAIL LABS Technology. It enables indexing of broadcast news and multimedia archives, producing annotated text output in real-time for subsequent multimedia search, retrieval, visualization and advanced analysis.

“We are excited about our strategic partnership with Dalet,” says Adi Schmidthuber, Vice President of SAIL LABS. “Dalet has an excellent track record and extensive market presence within the broadcast and telecommunications industry and related solution fields. Their systems are used around the world by hundreds of TV and Radio content producers, public broadcasters, commercial networks, operators, and government organizations. The powerful combination of our technologies will produce synergies allowing users to benefit from the strong suite of products and increasing their workflow efficiency substantially,” Mr. Schmidthuber concludes.

“The SAIL LABS and Dalet partnership brings genuine benefits to the market by making spoken word content immediately searchable in Dalet,” says Kevin Savina, Director of Product Management for Dalet.” Transcripts are automatically generated by SAIL LABS during recordings and attached as metadata in Dalet where they are instantly indexed and searchable. Query results denote the media-asset as well as the point-in-time when a word was uttered. It’s fast, accurate and transparent to the user. This is an excellent example of how the Dalet MAM acts as the glue between different systems, integrating back-office processes to improve the workflow. We’re very pleased to offer the significant advantages of our combined technologies to our customers.”
