SAIL LABS Technology AG, a leading provider of advanced speech technology for multilingual audio and video analysis, will participate at the 1st Podcast Conference held in Munich, Germany, on 7 April 2006.
SAIL LABS, who has introduced PodMining, a new product for automated indexing, search and playback of podcast content several months ago, will meet-up with German experts in the personal portable media as well as corporate communications domain to discuss the recent developments and future prospects of podcasting.
SAIL LABS PodMining enables podcast search engines to deliver relevant search results from audio and video podcasts – just as you would with a search engine for text – by transforming unstructured audio material into indexed and searchable information. PodMining is not limited to the German-speaking market, but available for English, French, Spanish, Greek and Arabic. It also comes with an optional feature of full text machine translation, making audio and video podcasts in any of the above-mentioned languages accessible.
PodMining also enables advertisers to locate relevant content within podcasts (via keyword or topic detection) for ad-insertions that really match the content of a podcast. This goes beyond the current practice to target advertising campaigns using demographic and geographic statistics or basic metadata, and therefore maximises the effectiveness of advertising campaigns by reaching the actual target market.
PodMining is based on automatic speech recognition and indexing technology – produced by SAIL LABS R&D – which has been successfully used in other SAIL LABS products, like the award-winning Media Mining System, the Communication Mining® Framework and ROSIDS, a solution for automated subtitling of broadcast news.
“We look forward to exchanging our ideas and experiences with other people who are dedicated to make good use of this fast growing market and create viable business models for the benefit of all participants”, says Christoph Prinz, COO of SAIL LABS Technology.
